Restaurant Reservation System for UAE Restaurants

Take bookings on your own page instead of a marketplace that charges per cover. The system refuses to double-book a table, walk-ins and bookings sit on one board, and the guest gets a WhatsApp confirmation.

  • Your own booking page — no commission per seated cover
  • Table overlap checked on every booking, edit and reopen
  • Guests confirm, and cancel, without phoning you

More than a diary

The booking that cannot collide with another one

Most restaurants here run bookings in a notebook, a WhatsApp thread, or a marketplace that takes a fee for a guest who was already coming. All three fail the same way on a busy Thursday.

A notebook or a chat thread

  1. Write it down
  2. Hope nobody else did
  3. Find out at 8pm

Two people take a booking for the same table an hour apart and nobody knows until both parties are standing at the door. Walk-ins live somewhere else entirely, and no-shows are never recorded, so you cannot tell whether you have a problem.

Tahlib Reservations

  1. Guest books
  2. Table checked
  3. WhatsApp confirmation
  4. Waitlist for walk-ins
  5. Seated
  6. Completed

The system checks the table against everything else booked in that window and refuses the clash rather than recording it. Walk-ins join the same board as bookings, and every no-show is a status you can count later.

You still keep a book. It just will not let you write the same table down twice.

How a booking moves

From the guest picking a time to the table turning

One status per booking, with the transitions guarded so it cannot go somewhere that makes no sense.

  1. The guest picks a slot

On your own booking page: a date, a party size and a half-hour slot. Past slots disappear on their own, so nobody books 7pm at 7.30.

  2. They add the detail that matters

Name, phone, an occasion and a seating preference — the things that let you put an anniversary somewhere better than the door.

  3. The table is checked

Before the booking is written, the system looks at everything else on that table in that window. A clash is refused, not recorded.

  4. A confirmation goes out

A WhatsApp confirmation when a phone number is on file and your WhatsApp number is connected — so the guest has it in the thread they actually read.

  5. Staff work the board

Bookings and walk-ins in one list. Confirm a pending one, move it to seated when they arrive, complete it when the table turns.

  6. Walk-ins wait in the same place

A walk-in is a pending booking. It sits on the waitlist view until a table frees, then it is confirmed and seated like any other.

  7. No-shows get recorded

Mark it and it counts. A cancelled or no-show booking can be reopened later, and the table check runs again in case the slot was taken meanwhile.

  8. The guest can cancel themselves

From the link they were sent, confirmed against their phone number. A cancelled booking frees the table without anyone answering a call.

Bookings default to 90 minutes; set a different duration per booking when a party needs longer.

What you get

The parts that stop a Thursday going wrong

Grouped by the failure each one prevents.

Your own booking page

Bookings that arrive without a commission attached.

  • A public booking page under your own restaurant link
  • Date, party size and half-hour slots, with past slots removed automatically
  • Occasion and seating preference captured with the booking
  • Optional email, required phone — the number you will actually reach them on
  • Guests cancel from their own link, confirmed against their phone number
  • No per-cover fee for a guest who booked directly with you

Never the same table twice

The check that a notebook cannot do.

  • Overlap checked against every other booking on that table in that window
  • Checked again when you move or lengthen a booking
  • Checked again when a cancelled booking is reopened, in case the slot went
  • Bookings default to 90 minutes, adjustable per booking
  • Cancelled and no-show bookings release the table immediately

One board for bookings and walk-ins

The two things a host is juggling, in one place.

  • Pending, confirmed, seated, completed, cancelled and no-show as real statuses
  • A waitlist view of everything pending — walk-ins and unconfirmed bookings together
  • Sources marked: staff, walk-in, online or WhatsApp
  • Party size, occasion and seating preference visible on the row
  • A guarded status machine, so a booking cannot jump to seated from cancelled by accident

Reaching the guest

Confirmations that arrive where people read.

  • WhatsApp confirmation when a phone number is on file
  • In-app notification to staff when a booking comes in
  • Guest self-cancel link, so a change of plan does not need a phone call
  • Rate-limited public endpoints, so a scripted flood cannot fill your book

Fitting the room you actually have

Where reservations meet the floor.

  • Bookings assigned to real tables from your table list
  • Zones for indoor, terrace and majlis via the Floor Plan product
  • The same tables the POS seats and the QR codes are printed for
  • Every booking change written to the audit log with who made it
The double-booking

The one failure a booking system exists to prevent

Everything else is convenience. Two parties at one table at eight o’clock is the thing that costs you a regular.

Checked before it is written, not after

Creating a booking looks at every other booking on that table whose window overlaps. If one does, the booking is refused with the clash named — it is never stored and found later.

Re-checked when anything moves

Changing the time, the table or the duration re-runs the same check. A booking pushed half an hour later cannot quietly collide with the one after it.

Re-checked when a cancellation is undone

A cancelled or no-show booking can be reopened, but the slot may have gone in the meantime. Reopening runs the check again rather than assuming the table is still free.

Cancellations free the table immediately

Cancelled and no-show bookings are excluded from the check, so the slot is genuinely available to the next guest the moment it is marked.

Where it fits

What changes, by type of restaurant

The clash check is universal. What else you get out of it is not.

Casual dining
Thursday and Friday evenings are the whole game. Refusing a clash at the point of booking is worth more than every other feature combined.
Fine dining
Occasion and seating preference captured with the booking mean an anniversary is placed properly rather than remembered by whoever happened to take the call.
Shisha cafés and majlis seating
Long sittings and zoned seating. A 90-minute default is the wrong assumption here, so set the duration per booking and let the overlap check work from the real number.
Restaurants on marketplaces
Your own booking page takes the guests who were coming anyway without a fee per cover. Keep the marketplace for discovery and stop paying it for regulars.
Multi-branch groups
Each branch keeps its own book and its own tables, while the group sees covers across locations in one place.
Built here

The details that matter for a UAE book

Built around how people here actually make a booking.

WhatsApp is the confirmation channel

A confirmation in the thread the guest already uses, rather than an email they will not open. It goes out when a phone number is on file and your WhatsApp Business number is connected.

Bilingual guest booking

The public booking page runs in English and Arabic with proper right-to-left layout, so a guest books in the language they think in.

Majlis and terrace as real zones

Seating preference is captured on the booking, and with Floor Plan those zones exist on a canvas rather than only in a host’s head.

Ramadan and long sittings

Duration is per booking, not a fixed turn time. An iftar table that sits for three hours is booked as three hours, and the overlap check works from that.

Getting started

How to get Reservations

Two ways to get it: add it to the plan you already pay for, or move to the plan that bundles it. Either way there is no fee per booking or per cover.

Option 1

Add it to your plan

Add-on+ AED 69.00/mo

Switch Reservations on from your dashboard and it starts billing alongside your existing subscription — no call, no setup fee.

Added to any paid plan from Lite up, per branch.
Option 2

Or get it included

Included with Growth and above

Growth already bundles Reservations with the floor plan and CRM that make it useful, plus the rest of the operations layer.

Growth bundles this with 9 other paid products — AED 762.00 of add-ons for AED 449.00.

Start with a Tahlib plan, then add the products you need — or move to a plan that already includes them.

Questions, answered

What owners ask before they move the book

Can guests book from my own website?

Yes. You get a public booking page under your own restaurant link, which you can put on your site, your Instagram bio or a QR card. Bookings taken there cost you nothing per cover.

Will it stop me double-booking a table?

That is the main thing it does. Before a booking is written, the system checks every other booking on that table whose time window overlaps, and refuses the clash rather than recording it. The same check runs again if you move or lengthen a booking, or reopen a cancelled one.

How long does it assume a table is held?

Ninety minutes by default, and you can set a different duration per booking. That matters for long sittings — an iftar table or a shisha booking is booked for the time it will actually take, and the overlap check works from that number.

Do guests get a confirmation?

Yes, over WhatsApp, when a phone number is on file. It needs your WhatsApp Business number connected to send — until then the booking is still recorded and your team is notified in-app, but the guest is not messaged.

Can guests cancel without phoning us?

Yes. They cancel from their own booking link, confirmed against the phone number on the booking. The table is released immediately, so the slot is genuinely free for the next guest.

How do walk-ins work?

A walk-in is a pending booking, so it sits on the same board as everything else. The waitlist view shows every pending party in one list; when a table frees you confirm it and seat it exactly like a booking.

Does it quote a waiting time to walk-ins?

No. The waitlist is a queue you work, not an estimator — it does not calculate or display a wait time. If quoted waits are important to you, that is worth saying before you commit.

Can I track no-shows?

Yes. No-show is a real status rather than a deleted row, so you can see how often it happens and to whom. A no-show can be reopened later if the guest turns up after all, and the table check runs again.

Is the booking page in Arabic?

Yes — the guest-facing booking page runs in English and Arabic with right-to-left layout. The staff-side bookings dashboard is currently English only; that translation is a known gap we are closing.

Does the booking connect to the table the POS uses?

Yes. Bookings are assigned to your real tables — the same ones the till seats and the QR cards are printed for. With the Floor Plan product those tables sit on a canvas with zones for indoor, terrace and majlis.

What does it cost?

Two ways. Add it to the paid plan you are already on, at its own monthly price per branch, with a 14-day free trial. Or move to the plan that bundles it. Either way there is no fee per booking or per cover — the pricing section above shows both routes.

Take the bookings you were already getting

Put a booking page on your own link, work walk-ins and reservations from one board, and stop finding out about a clash when both parties arrive.
