Restaurant POS System for UAE Restaurants

Ring in dine-in, takeaway and delivery from the same screen, keep one running check per table, split the bill however the party wants it, and close with a VAT invoice your accountant will accept. It runs in a browser on the tablet you already own.

  • Runs in any browser — no proprietary terminal to buy or lease
  • 5% VAT calculated line by line, tax invoice with a ZATCA-style QR
  • English and Arabic, with the whole screen flipping right-to-left

The till and the payment sheet, as they ship.

More than a cash drawer

A till that knows what the rest of the restaurant is doing

Most small-restaurant POS systems are an isolated box: they take money and print a slip. Everything after that — the kitchen, the stock, the customer, the accounts — is somebody re-typing.

A standalone till

  1. Ring it in
  2. Print a chit
  3. Walk it to the kitchen

Amendments get shouted. The bill is a separate exercise. At close, the day is added up by hand and typed somewhere else. Every extra tool you add is another screen, another login and another invoice.

Tahlib POS

  1. Ring it in
  2. Kitchen ticket fires
  3. Stock moves
  4. Guest recognised
  5. Split & pay
  6. Tax invoice
  7. Cashup

One order object, touched by everything that needs it. The kitchen screen gets the modifiers, the stockroom deducts the ingredients, the guest earns their points and the day rolls into the cash count without a second entry.

The screen looks like a till. The difference is what the order does after you press send.

A service, start to finish

From the first tap to the drawer closing

Nothing here needs a back office, a support call or a device you had to buy from us.

  1. Pick the order type

Dine-in, takeaway or delivery. Dine-in asks for a table; delivery asks for an address. Only the channels you have switched on appear.

  2. Build the order

Search the menu by name or scan a barcode. Items with sizes and add-ons open a customise sheet with your own required and optional rules.

  3. Attach the guest

Type a phone number and an existing customer resolves; a new one is saved. Allergens and notes from their profile come with them.

  4. Send it to the kitchen

The ticket lands on the right station with modifiers and notes. If the table already has a check, this round joins it instead of opening a second order.

  5. Adjust as service goes

Hold an order and resume it later, void a line with a reason, add another round. Rounds sent after the kitchen has started fire as a fresh ticket so nothing is missed.

  6. Take the money

Cash with change calculated, card, Apple Pay or UPI — or split the bill N ways with a tip. Loyalty rewards and points are applied before the total.

  7. Issue the invoice

VAT is on the bill line by line and the tax invoice carries a ZATCA-style QR. Print it, or let the guest download it from their phone.

  8. Close the day

The day’s takings roll into the cash count — expected versus counted, variance noted, shift signed off.

Every void, discount and price change is recorded with who did it and when.

What you get

The things you actually reach for mid-rush

Grouped by the moment you need them, not by which menu they live under.

Order entry that keeps up

The bit you touch five hundred times a day, built for one hand and a busy counter.

  • Search by item name, or scan a barcode straight into the order
  • Modifier groups with your own rules — required, optional, pick exactly N, pick up to N
  • Sold-out options greyed out rather than hidden, so staff can explain
  • Per-line kitchen notes for allergies and special requests
  • Items outside their serving window are marked off hours instead of silently missing
  • Dine-in, takeaway and delivery from the same screen

One check per table

A party gets one bill, however many rounds and however many people took the order.

  • A second round joins the table’s open check instead of starting order #13 beside #12
  • Rounds sent after the kitchen has started fire as a fresh ticket, and staff are told
  • Guests ordering from the QR menu land on the same check the till is looking at
  • Hold an order and resume it from the orders list
  • Void a line with a reason — wrong order, changed mind, quality, other

Taking payment

However the table wants to settle, without a calculator or an argument.

  • Cash with change due worked out for you
  • Card, Apple Pay and UPI
  • Split a bill N ways with the per-person amount shown
  • Tip prompts, including a custom amount
  • Cash-only mode when you would rather not take cards on a given terminal
  • Print a receipt, or hand the guest a downloadable tax invoice

Built for UAE service

The tax and language work is done, not left as configuration homework.

  • 5% VAT calculated per line, not bolted onto the total
  • Tax invoice with a ZATCA-style QR code
  • Prices and change in AED
  • The whole interface in English or Arabic, right-to-left when it should be
  • Menu items carry both languages, so kitchen tickets stay readable to everyone

Control and accountability

Who can do what, and a record of what they did.

  • Role-based access — a cashier does not get the discount button by default
  • Every void, discount and refund written to a tamper-evident audit log with the staff member’s name
  • Loyalty rewards redeemed by 6-character code, points capped by your program rules
  • Daily cashup with expected-versus-counted and a variance note
  • Runs on any tablet in a browser, so a spare device is a spare till
Splitting the bill

The part that holds up the table

Six people, one bill, three cards and someone paying cash. This is where a till either helps or becomes the reason the table takes another ten minutes.

Split N ways, with the number on screen

Choose how many ways and the per-person amount is worked out and shown, so nobody is doing arithmetic over a phone torch.

Mixed payment methods on one check

Part cash, part card. Cash entry shows the change due as you type, so the drawer is right the first time.

Tips handled before the total, not after

Prompt for a tip with preset amounts or a custom figure, and it lands on the bill rather than in an envelope nobody logged.

Loyalty applied before you take the money

Stage a reward code or spend points, and the discount is on the total the guest is shown. The server caps points to your program’s limits and only charges what was actually used.

Where it fits

What changes, by type of restaurant

The screen is the same. What it saves you is not.

Cafés and counters
Short orders, fast queue. Barcode search and a one-tap cash-and-change flow matter more than table management — and a spare tablet becomes a second till at peak with no extra licence to buy.
Casual dining
Tables order in rounds and settle as a group. One running check per table plus split-and-tip is the difference between turning a table and negotiating at it.
Quick service
Takeaway and delivery from the same screen, with the address on the delivery order and the ticket in the kitchen before the guest has finished paying.
Shisha cafés and late-night
Long sittings with a lot of add-on rounds. Every later round joins the same bill and fires its own kitchen ticket, so an eleven o’clock order does not get lost behind the nine o’clock one.
Multi-branch groups
Each branch runs its own till on its own devices, while menus and prices are pushed centrally and every branch’s numbers roll up in one place.
Built here

The details that matter for a UAE till

Not a global POS with a tax field added afterwards.

VAT that stands up to an audit

5% is calculated per line and carried onto a tax invoice with a ZATCA-style QR — the document your accountant and the FTA both expect, produced automatically rather than assembled later.

A bilingual floor team

Staff pick the language they read fastest. The whole interface flips to right-to-left in Arabic, and menu items carry both names so a ticket is legible to whoever picks it up.

No hardware lock-in

It runs in a browser. Any tablet becomes a till, a spare device is a spare till, and a broken screen on a Friday night is an inconvenience rather than a closure.

Ramadan and seasonal menus

Serving windows per item and per category mean the iftar list appears at sunset and the breakfast list closes itself — the till simply shows what is on right now.

Getting started

How to get Point of Sale

The till is one of the essentials, so it arrives with your plan rather than carrying a price of its own.

It comes with your plan

Included with Starter and above

Starter is the first plan with the full till, and every plan above it includes it too — alongside the kitchen display, tables and daily cashup a single restaurant needs.

Every paid product starts with a 14-day free trial.

Start with a Tahlib plan, then add the products you need — or move to a plan that already includes them.

Questions, answered

What owners ask before they switch tills

What hardware do I need for this POS?

Whatever you already have. Tahlib runs in a web browser, so any reasonably modern tablet, laptop or desktop works as a till. There is no proprietary terminal to buy or lease, and adding a second till at peak is a matter of opening the page on another device.

Does it handle UAE VAT and tax invoices?

Yes. 5% VAT is calculated line by line rather than added to the total, and every tax invoice carries a ZATCA-style QR code. You can print the receipt, and the guest can download the invoice from their phone.

Can I split a bill between several people?

Yes. Choose how many ways and the per-person amount is shown on screen. You can mix methods on one check — part cash with the change calculated, part card — and add a tip from a preset or a custom amount.

What happens if a table orders again after the kitchen has started?

The new items join the same check rather than opening a second order, and they fire to the kitchen as a fresh ticket so the round is not buried inside one that is already cooking. Staff are notified that a round was added.

Does it work in Arabic?

Yes. Staff choose their language and the whole interface flips to right-to-left. Menu items, sizes and add-ons carry names in both languages, so kitchen tickets stay readable whichever language the person reading them prefers.

Does the POS work offline if my internet drops?

Not today — the POS needs a connection, because the order, the kitchen screen and the bill are all the same live record. If unreliable connectivity is a real risk for you, tell us before you commit; we would rather you knew now than found out on a Friday night.

Can I stop staff giving discounts or voiding items?

Yes. Access is role-based, so you decide which roles can discount, void or refund. Whatever they do is written to a tamper-evident audit log with their name, the time and the reason they picked.

Can I scan barcodes?

Yes. The search box accepts a scanner’s input, so a scanned item drops straight into the order — useful for packaged goods, retail lines and bottled drinks.

Do loyalty rewards work at the till?

Yes, if you run the Loyalty product. Staff enter the six-character code from the guest’s app, or spend points against the bill. The discount is applied before the guest is shown the total, and points are capped by your program’s own limits.

How long does it take to switch from my current POS?

Import your menu from a spreadsheet, switch on the modules you need, and you can be taking orders the same afternoon. There is nothing to install, so you can run Tahlib beside your current till for a service or two before you move over fully.

Does it connect to my kitchen screen and my stock?

Yes, when you run those on Tahlib. Orders appear on the kitchen display with their station, modifiers and notes, and menu items linked to ingredients deduct stock as they sell.

Can I run more than one branch?

Yes. Each branch runs its own till, and with the Chain Dashboard you push one master menu out to all of them and see every branch’s numbers side by side.

Put a till on the tablet you already own

Open an account, import your menu, and take a real order this afternoon. Nothing to install, no terminal to buy, no contract to sign first.
