Pay-at-Table and Online Payments for UAE Restaurants

Guests open the bill from the table QR, split it however the table likes, add a tip and pay on their phone. Takeaway and delivery guests can pay as they order. The money goes straight into your own payment gateway account — Tahlib never holds it and takes no cut of it.

  • Your own gateway account — no commission from Tahlib
  • Pay all, split equally, pay for your own items, or any amount
  • Network International, Checkout.com, PayTabs, Tap, Telr, HyperPay or Stripe

The bill as a guest sees it, and the same payments as your team sees them.

More than a QR code

Your payments, in your account, on your terms

Paying at the end of a meal still means asking for the bill, waiting for it, then waiting for the card machine — once per guest if the table splits.

The usual way

  1. Ask for the bill
  2. Wait for it
  3. Wait for the card machine
  4. Split it one card at a time
  5. Tip in cash or on the terminal

Tables sit occupied while the bill travels, and the split is worked out at the table with a calculator. Pay-at-table apps that fix this often run the money through their own account and keep a percentage of every bill.

Tahlib Online Payments

  1. Scan the table QR
  2. Open the bill
  3. Split it
  4. Add a tip
  5. Pay on the phone
  6. Bill closes itself

The guest pays on your payment provider’s own secure page, the money settles to your account on your provider’s schedule, and the bill closes in Tahlib the moment your provider confirms the last payment. You pay your provider’s usual fees under your own agreement with them.

Your provider, your settlement, your money. Tahlib makes the bill payable.

How it works

From your provider keys to a bill that pays itself

About two minutes to connect, then nothing to do at the table.

  1. Connect your provider

Pick your payment provider, paste the keys from its dashboard and press Test & connect. The keys are checked with your provider before anything is saved, then stored encrypted.

  2. Try it in test mode

Run a test payment from the dashboard: the same page your guests will see, against your provider’s test mode, with no order and no real money.

  3. Decide what guests can do

Choose which ways to split are offered, your tip presets, and whether takeaway and delivery orders pay online first, let the guest choose, or pay at the counter.

  4. Guests open the bill

From the QR code on their table, or a payment link your staff copy from the order and send. Every line, what is already paid and what is left.

  5. They split, tip and pay

Pay all, split equally, tick their own items or enter an amount; add a tip; then pay on your provider’s page with a card or whatever else your account offers.

  6. The bill closes itself

When your provider confirms the last payment, the order is marked paid online, loyalty and the customer record update once, and the tax invoice is ready to download.

Connecting a provider, replacing keys, refunds and every settings change are written to the audit log with who made them.

Where the money goes

From the guest’s phone to your bank, without passing through Tahlib

Tahlib makes the bill payable and keeps the books straight. The payment itself happens between your guest and your own provider.

What you get

Everything between “the bill, please” and money in the bank

Grouped by the job, not by the screen it lives on.

Your gateway, your money

Tahlib connects to the account you already have — or the one you open.

  • Network International, Checkout.com, PayTabs, Tap, Telr, HyperPay or Stripe
  • Payments settle straight to your provider account — Tahlib never holds them
  • No commission and no per-transaction fee from Tahlib
  • Keys checked with the provider before saving, stored encrypted, never shown again
  • Start in test mode, then connect your live keys

The bill, from the table

Guests stop waiting for a folder and a card machine.

  • Opens from the table QR — or a payment link staff send from the order
  • Every line, VAT, service charge, what is paid and what is left
  • Pay all, split equally, pay for your own items, or a custom amount
  • Your tip presets plus a custom tip — a tip never reduces the bill
  • Updates live as others at the table pay

Paying when ordering

Takeaway and delivery, settled before the food leaves the pass.

  • Per channel: pay online first, let the guest choose, or pay at the counter
  • An order waiting for payment stays off the kitchen screen until it is paid
  • A declined card can try again — or pay at the counter, where you allow it
  • Abandoned checkouts are cancelled automatically and kept out of your void figures
  • An online tip on a delivery order is passed to the rider’s delivery

Money that adds up

Built so the bill and the money always agree.

  • Two guests can never pay the same share — the second sees what is left
  • A payment counts only when your provider confirms it
  • Anything still in progress is rechecked with your provider automatically
  • Overpayments and late payments are kept and flagged for refund, never lost

Refunds and follow-up

Everything after the payment, in one place.

  • Full or partial refunds from the payment’s page, with a reason
  • Record a refund you made in your provider’s own dashboard (Telr refunds work this way)
  • A queue of payments that need a look, with a push notification
  • A timeline for every payment — started, confirmed, refunded
  • A payment link for whatever is still owed on a bill
Split bills

Four phones, one bill, no arguments

Splitting is where pay-at-table usually falls apart: two people pay the same share, or the last person is left guessing. Tahlib keeps the whole table on the same bill.

A share is held while someone pays

The moment a guest starts paying, their amount is set aside. Everyone else sees it as being paid, so nobody pays it twice.

Equal splits that add up

Each share is worked out from the whole bill and the last payer pays exactly what is left, so the shares always total the bill to the fils.

Items are claimed once

Ticking “my items” claims those lines. Lines another guest is already paying for are greyed out.

Never more than the bill

If two guests tap “pay all” at the same moment, one goes through and the other is shown the new amount. A payment that still arrives late is kept and flagged for a refund.

Where it fits

What it changes, by type of restaurant

Same bill, different reason to care.

Cafés
Guests leave when they are ready instead of queueing at the counter to pay, and tables turn without anyone chasing a bill.
Casual dining
Groups split the way they actually want — evenly, by what each person had, or a round on one card — without a calculator at the table.
Quick service and takeaway
Require payment when ordering and the kitchen only ever sees paid orders. No-shows stop costing you food.
Delivery-led kitchens
Guests pay online when they order from your own menu, so fewer riders carry cash, and the tip reaches the rider’s delivery.
Owners with more than one branch
Each branch connects its own provider account, so every branch’s money settles exactly where it should.

The details that matter for payments in the UAE

Written around how guests here pay and how restaurants here get paid.

Regional providers, not just global ones

Network International, PayTabs, Telr, Tap, Checkout.com and HyperPay sit alongside Stripe — use the acquirer you already bank with.

mada, KNET and BENEFIT

Where your provider account supports them, guests see them on the payment page next to cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

VAT on the bill, invoice after

Guests see VAT on every bill, and the tax invoice with its ZATCA-style QR downloads as soon as the bill is paid.

Both languages for guests

The bill, payment and receipt pages switch between English and Arabic, and so does the payments section of your dashboard.

Questions, answered

What owners ask before taking the first payment

Does Tahlib take a percentage of my payments?

No. Guests pay into your own payment provider account and Tahlib takes nothing from the money — no commission and no per-transaction fee. You pay your provider’s usual fees under your own agreement with them, and Tahlib charges for the product per branch.

Which payment providers can I connect?

In the UAE: Network International (N-Genius), Checkout.com, PayTabs, Tap, Telr, HyperPay and Stripe. You need your own merchant account with one of them; the dashboard links to each provider’s sign-up page and shows where to find every key.

Is every provider ready for live payments?

The connectors are new, and each is labelled Beta in your dashboard until it has been proven against that provider’s test account. Each one is built to the provider’s published API — connect in test mode and run a test payment before you take real money.

When do I receive the money?

On your provider’s normal settlement schedule, straight to the bank account on your provider account. Tahlib never holds or forwards it.

How do guests get to the bill?

From the QR code on their table — the open bill appears under the table’s order — or from a payment link your staff copy from the order in the dashboard and send however they like. A bill rung up on the POS can be paid this way too; guests do not have to have ordered from the QR menu.

Can guests split the bill?

Yes: pay everything that is left, split equally by the number of people, tick their own items, or enter an amount — you choose which options are offered. “My items” works on whole lines, so two guests cannot share one dish line between them.

What if two guests pay at the same time?

A guest’s share is held for them while they pay, so others see it as being paid. If two guests try to pay the same amount at once, one goes through and the other is shown what is left. A payment that still arrives after the bill is settled is kept and flagged for you to refund.

What payment methods do guests see?

Whatever your provider account offers on its payment page — cards, and where your account supports them Apple Pay, Google Pay, mada, KNET or BENEFIT.

Can takeaway and delivery guests pay online?

Yes. For each channel, choose pay at the counter, let the guest choose, or pay online first. A pay-first order only reaches the kitchen once it is paid. If a card is declined the guest can try again, or pay at the counter where you allow it.

Does it work in Arabic?

Yes. Everything guests see — the bill, the payment and the receipt — is in English and Arabic, and so is the payments section of your dashboard.

How do refunds work?

From the payment’s page in your dashboard: refund all or part of it, with a reason, and it goes back through your provider to the guest’s card. Telr has no refund connection, so you refund in Telr’s dashboard and record it in Tahlib.

Are card details safe?

Guests enter card details on your provider’s own secure page — HyperPay’s card form appears inside the Tahlib page but is served by HyperPay. Card details never reach Tahlib or your restaurant, and your provider keys are encrypted and never displayed again after you save them.

What does it not do yet?

Buy now, pay later (Tabby), redeeming loyalty rewards on the bill page and listing online payments on the tax invoice PDF are not in the product yet. Stripe connects by pasting your keys; a one-click “Connect with Stripe” is not available.

What does it cost?

It is priced per branch, per month, with a free trial — switched on and off from your dashboard, and never a share of your payments. The pricing section above shows the current figure.

Let the table pay when it is ready

Connect your own payment provider, run a test payment, and tonight’s tables can split, tip and pay from their phones.

No card to start · nothing to install · no commission on payments
